Versace Opens First Boutique in Florence

Versace has opened its first boutique in Florence. Featuring the new store concept by Donatella Versace in collaboration with architect Gwenael Nicolas. The modern design of the boutique is juxtaposed with the original architecture of the historical Florentine palazzo located on the iconic Via Tornabuoni.

“I am delighted to be back to Florence,” said Donatella Versace. “I have so many happy memories related to this city in which I spent my university’s years. I love that sense of rich history that you breathe just by walking around its streets and the sheer beauty of its unique architecture. Opening a boutique in the prestigious Via Tornabuoni was something I had wanted for a long time. It was not just about finding the right location, but most importantly, I wanted to come here with a new store concept that mirrors the new soul of Versace. I am very proud of the result.”

The Versace boutique is in a luxury building dating back to the eighteenth century, located in the most prestigious street of the historic center of Florence, in Via Tornabuoni, 17.

The Curiosity studio, which oversaw the interiors were involved in the design of the store and the elements that characterize the design, such as the seats upholstered in blue velvet and gold velvet, and some specific materials.

Marble is a very present element in the concept store, moreover a material painting developed together with Oikos is applied on the walls to give a rough and historical look to the environment, to enhance the maison’s DNA.
