Nike Fans Could Customize Their Own AR Snapchat Filter – PSFK

Nike and Jordan sponsored dedicated Snapchat filters to let their fans create “ARt”, or augmented reality art, in honor of the 2019 NBA All Star Weekend. In order to partake, fans used Snapchat’s Lens Studio, a free app that lets creators generate their own AR experiences called Lenses, letting them choose from Nike’s selection of virtual assets.

Once the lens is built, creators received a special Snapcode that lets their friends and followers use the specific filter themselves. In addition, Nike and Jordan Brand took over The Mint Museum in Charlotte, NC, the host city for 2019 NBA’s All Star Weekend, to feature fans’ AR creations, even holding a workshop to help NikePlus members create a Lens.

Nike is known for its efforts to drive community engagement, as well as its digital integrations. Moreover, the activation also showcases the simplicity of creating AR experiences using Snapchat’s Lens Studio, inspiring everyday fans to become creators.
