ECOR wins Bronze at the 2014 Edison Awards: San Diego Sustainability Pioneer Robert Noble recognized for “game changing” green building material ECOR® and addressing the trillion-dollar waste-to-resource market problem.

San Diego, California (April 30, 2014) – The Edison Awards, celebrating 27 years of honoring the best in innovation and excellence in the development of new products and services, announced today that Noble Environmental Technologies was voted a Bronze winner for innovation at the April 30th Awards Ceremony and Gala in San Franciso. Robert Noble, Founder and CEO, joined over 400 representatives from some of the world’s most recognized companies to acknowledge the hard work and commitment of all of the 2014 Edison Award™ winners.

ECOR_Edison_QuoteNoble Environmental Technologies received the top honor in the Sustainable Systems category for ECOR, a sustainable composite material that is coveted as an alternative to traditional building materials including wood, plywood, mdf, and cardboard, for a range of applications. Early adopters include Google, Microsoft, Starbucks, Whole Foods, 20th Century Fox, Gensler and others – all of whom have found ECOR to have superior performance and advanced properties for commercial and retail construction and renovation, interior design, fixtures and furniture, signage and packaging.

Being recognized with an Edison Award has become one of the highest accolades a company can receive in the name of innovation and business. The awards are named after Thomas Alva Edison (1847-1931) whose inventions, new product development methods and innovative achievements literally changed the world, garnered him 1,093 U.S. patents, and made him a household name around the world.

“Our judges recognized ECOR and Noble Environmental Technologies as a true innovator out of the many products in the sustainability category,” said Frank Bonafilia, Executive Director of the Edison Awards.

“It’s an honor to receive this recognition by the Edison Awards and I humbled by the opportunity to share the stage with executives from across the country who share our vision for a more sustainable and environmentally conscious future. I am confident that ECOR will have a future in supporting the sustainability goals of many of our fellow award winners and I look forward to working with them in the years to come,” said Robert Noble, Founder and CEO of Noble Environmental Technologies.

The ballot of nominees for the Edison Awards was judged by a panel of more than 3,000 leading business executives including past award winners, academics and leaders in the fields of product development, design, engineering, science and medical.
