Dover Street Market Has Had A Make-Over, See What’s Inside

There’s nothing wrong with a bit of change. In actual fact, after the year we’ve had, we’re firm ambassadors of it. So good news then that it’s time for Dover Street Market’s latest seasonal changeover. Twice a year, the concept store completely refurbishes its interior, bringing in a fresh slew of innovative installations to accompany the newest fashions. Rather exciting stuff, if you ask us. This past Saturday, DSM re-opened its doors after its autumn/winter swap-over, welcoming a giddy clan of shoppers ready to explore the whimsical world Adrian Joffe and Rei Kawakubo have envisioned this time around. What to expect you ask? Upon arrival to 18-22 Haymarket, you will be greeted by Comme Des Garçons’ AW20 installation, which sees this season’s sculptural concoctions shielded under a steel umbrella structure. Behind, the tower of pink chairs that hold the marvelous creations of milliner Stephen Jones has had a fresh lick of paint, now accented with hints of orange.

Moving on down into the basement, former LVMH Prize-winner Doublet now has his own dedicated space; a mock-up sushi restaurant which comes with its very own anime waitress. On the upper floors, the likes of Jil Sander, Maison Margiela and Cecilie Bahnsen also have newly refurbished spots, surrounded by brand new fashions courtesy of Bottega Veneta, Loewe and Balenciaga. Oh, we forgot to mention – there are brand-new, DSM-exclusive styles from both Gucci and Molly Goddard up for grabs. Don’t mind us, we’ll be clocking off early today – we’ve got some shopping to do.
