If Coach’s 85th anniversary runway show was a reflection on the house’s past, the celebration that followed was all about living in the moment. Guests made their way from the Lower East Side show venue into a larger-than-life after-party that transformed the evening into a full-blown Coach Club 85 experience. Drenched in pink and overflowing with balloons and sequins, the space felt equal parts glamorous nightclub and a celebratory dreamscape.
The festivities carried forward the spirit of Creative Director Stuart Vevers’s anniversary collection, which explored the idea of memory, familiarity, and the way beloved things evolve through time. The anniversary celebration culminated on the runway itself. As the curtains rose, young musicians from UpBeat NYC performed MFSB’s disco classic “Love Is the Message,” joined by voguing dancers and a cascade of confetti. And with that, the runway seamlessly gave way to the night’s main event: Coach Club 85. A maximalist birthday party where the house’s youthful energy took center stage. The space was transformed into a grand, candy-pink disco filled with balloons, shimmering details, and enough confetti to ensure guests would leave with a little piece of the celebration.
The mood was playful, glamorous, and unmistakably New York. Guests danced beneath a sea of balloons as the party atmosphere built throughout the evening, turning the anniversary from a reflection on 85 years of history into a celebration of everything Coach is becoming.
The birthday energy had actually begun before the first look hit the runway. Guests were welcomed with Champagne and the signature Coach 85, a Coach interpretation of the French 75, setting the tone for an evening that was destined to become more than just a fashion show.
“We knew we wanted to do something special,” said Todd Kahn, Coach’s chief executive officer and brand president. “The idea of something that we could surprise—not just a show but open it up and create a club environment—and very celebratory.”
