Chanel Pop Up Shop Prescribes a Cure for Shopaholics

Attention shopaholics around the world. This is one prescription you won’t mind taking. Coco Chanel has just opened a pop up shop in the Parisian department store, Le Bon Marché, called the Coco Lab.

Designed to imitate a doctor’s office, customers can meet with a mock doctor who will prescribe an array of jewels from the Coco Crush collection based on the customer’s personality and style.

Located on the first floor of the department store, the Coco Lab will be open until June 24th, and the Chanel “doctors” will be available on call from 2 pm to 7 pm, Friday through Sunday. Chanel is set to launch a second Coco Lab location in the Japanese department store, Isetan Shinjuku, within the next few weeks.

Originally, the Coco Crush Collection was created as a capsule collection, but has slowly evolved into a staple for the brand. Frédéric Grangié, head of Chanel’s watch and jewelry division, says that it was important to create a pop up location showcasing the classic line in an amusing and playful way.

“This concept, which is very joyful and unusual, is a way of showing that you can develop an iconic line like Coco Crush in a way that is both serious and humorous,” says Grangié.

After meeting with an expert, each customer can choose from a selection of their personally prescribed earrings, bracelets, rings, and necklaces ranging in price from 2,600 to 33,400 Euros, depending on the style and type of jewels.
