Heeji Min
Heeji Min’s passion lies in visual storytelling and transforming spaces to captivate audiences within branded experiences. She knew from a very young age that she wanted to pursue art, and she knows she’s found a way to make that childhood dream a reality with her exhibition designs. Growing up in a small town in Korea, Heeji pursued her passion by joining various art clubs. In 2014, she jumped at the opportunity to move to Toronto, Canada, where she studied Visual Merchandising Art at Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology and interned as a visual assistant for two major department stores. She then relocated to the US to obtain her BA in Interior Architecture from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. There, she pursued studies in large-scale spatial design, developed theme-based concepts, and found creative ways to connect visitors to a brand’s identity through the use of space. While in Chicago, she conceptualized and installed the front window display at The Design Museum of Chicago for the exhibition "Great Ideas of Humanity: Out of the Container". Her design connected visitors to the core idea of the exhibit, which encourages people to look to the past to help understand the present. Heeji Min is well-aware that the exhibition industry continues to grow and evolve as people are increasingly immersed in public displays. She believes that exhibition design enables the designer to communicate stories with the public using visual elements. She is eager and excited to create positive and happy experiences with her designs through her ideas for branded concepts with the local and global community. Currently, Heeji Min is obtaining her MA in Exhibition and Experience Design from The Fashion Institute of Technology.
