As the holidays draw near, the over-the-top window displays are in full swing. And while some are adhering to the holiday cheer and festive colors, others are taking a more dramatic route.
Barneys Madison Avenue Store in NYC has transformed their windows into a fantastical wonderland of inspiration and magic. One window in particular, is the mechanical masterpiece of Chris Cole. As artist and sculpture, Cole has created a 6 1/2ft mechanical, talking owl, named Patterson. The woodland creature is composed of steel and aluminum, set in a backdrop of black within in a massive wooden nest made of branches and industrial remnants.
With the word TRUTH written on the window, the owl stays true to its word by telling words of wisdom and holiday stories to passers by. The larger than life owl can also ruffle its feathers and move its head, providing a truly exceptional and magical display.
