This display was done for a visual merchandising class at Liberty University by Elizabeth Schmidt.
"I loved bringing to life a rendition inspired by one of my favorite novels, The Great Gatsby. I have always been fascinated and enamored by the glamor of the 1920s, and I attempted to express that through my display. The chaotic yet elegant clutter presented is inspired by the seemingly universal female experience of having a closet of clothing, yet “not a thing to wear”. I imagined my mannequin fraught with a mixture of excitement and apprehension as she tries on every garment she owns, as she wants to look and feel her best attending a Gatsby-esque soiree."
