Formroom was thrilled to be approached by Google to create their exclusive Google Pixel Suite at London’s world-famous O2 arena. It was important that the suite was a warm and inviting haven for influencers and partners during O2 events. The space needed to embody the unique personality of the Google Pixel brand and be the perfect environment to showcase the remarkable photography capabilities of the Google Pixel 7. The design needed to resonate with the wider Google interior design strategy, all while adhering to the O2’s specialised design guidelines. Design-wise, it was important to strike a balance between a relaxed, lounge space and a premium execution. Google wanted their guests to feel at ease and comfortable in the space, but also special – with surprises along the way. One of our design priorities therefore focused on ensuring the comfort and real-life experience of suite guests, with comfortable seating, warm lighting and premium finishes. Custom features such as a brass wall-mounted ‘#teampixel’ photo moment mimics the form of the camera fitting on the back of the Google Pixel 7, ensuring the space was ideal for social media content (as well as real-time relaxation). The suite’s palette embraces a neutral colour scheme with subtle accents of brass and wood, including chevron flooring and solid oak finishes. Warm lighting creates an inviting ambiance, while existing structural features have been adapted, with the addition of a ceiling grid and wall claddings in a neutral plaster to bring texture to the space and truly transform the suite to its full potential by delivering the premium impact we were after. An interactive letter board, for custom cocktail options or messages, plus photos taken exclusively on the pixel are scattered throughout the space adding little moments of surprise and delight without detracting from a premium hospitality experience.
