Nerivoq - High-End Inuit Cuisine Restaurant
An inuit inspired restaurant from historic customs and future trends. Nerivoq aims to capture the traditional tastes and richness of authentic northern cuisine. Inspired by the Executive Chef Kallu Arnatsiaq’s mission to share Inuit culture through food. Nerivoq reflects the depth, richness, and vibrancy of Inuit culinary traditions in a modern, setting. Derived from Inuit culture, the design concept for this restaurant reflected the local way of life and sustainable use of local ecosystems. The design connects the arctic lands and water by the abstract representation of a canoe. It highlights the importance of local hunting and gathering for every meal. The cuisine choices highlighted in the menu influenced the design by the way the food was traditionally gathered. The design tells a story of the various seasons and how the inuit peoples would migrate across the land.
