Retail is certainly on the increase in the Middle East and in particular in Saudi Arabia and Dubai.
The research indicates that the retail industry in Saudi Arabia is currently worth $106 billion and is forecast to steadily rise to $119 billion by 2023. Store-based retailing will continue to dominate, accounting for $103 billion of the overall market in Saudi Arabia.
Dubai's retail sector will continue its dominance over the next five years, with a compound annual growth rate of 5.2 per cent over the period, supported by strong international visitor spending, robust demand fuelled by a high frequency of mega-sales and shopping festivals.

This Flagship home/Interior store also offered a Bridal Registry, Food Demonstration Kitchen, Gift Wrapping Service together with a coffee shop. “Spending 6 months at the store, was the ideal opportunity to work closely with the Buyers, and Store Management” says Iain. “It was essential to ensure that the store with its carefully planned and zoned departments became a Destination store”. Part of the remit was to ensure high standards of Visual Merchandising with ‘hands-on’ training with the VM team and regular training sessions with the shop floor team. Visual Merchandising Guidelines were compiled so that a high level of corporate visual presentation could be adhered to, as more stores were being planned for Saudi Arabia, Dubai and Doha.
