Collage Apartment Living
Imagine designing an old glove factory building into an apartment complex. Well, that is exactly what I had to do with this project, create a space that's welcoming. One of the main requirements for this project was to create two diversified condos according to two different personas. The first persona is catering a male named Tomas from Slovakia. The second persona is catered to a young woman named Effia from Ghana. However, here's the twist, I wanted to create a space that feels a lot like a collage. My inspiration behind this has a lot to do with my strong relatability to the two personas I'm catering to which both came from outer countries. I too have come from Egypt to America and I know the feeling of alienation that comes with being a newcomer. I want my apartment building to feel like it's come from many places, eras and times. To feel timeless, like a space that could be relatable and comforting to anyone. Furniture pieces that may come from any country, time. or place.
