Knoll Showroom Design
Knoll is an American design firm that produces office systems, seating, files and storage, tables and desks, textiles, and accessories for the office, home, and higher education settings. Founded by Hans Knoll and Florence Knoll, the designs of Knoll’s furniture are modernist in nature, emphasizing clean and functional forms. Florence Knoll believed in “total design“ in office spaces and opted for open works spaces rather than private offices. The Knolls always sought to push the envelope of design by hiring talented designers. They always made sure that they were credited by name and received a royalty for their work. Such talented designers included Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Harry Bertoia, Frank Gehry, Charles Gwathmey, Maya Lin, Eero Saarinen and more. This showroom design aims to honor its mid-century modern roots as well as creating a space that is accessible and dynamic.
