Fashion Window Walking Tour

Students from Instituto Via Vestire participated in the New York Fashion Week in September 2015, where they learnt more about the Fashion Industry.

Instituto Via Vestire offers students the opportunity to meet guest speakers in New York who share their experience. Students went to the WindowsWear office to learn more about the worldÂ’s largest luxury largest fashion visual display database. Jon Harari, the CEO of WindowsWear presented his company and shared his experience.

The students had also the opportunity to see Paola Hernandez Spring 2016 runway show. Paola Hernandez is a Fashion Designer who launched her eponymous label in 2006 after studying philosophy in Mexico City, fashion at Central Saint MartinÂ’s College of Art and Design in London, and shoe design at ARS Sutoria in Milan. She utilizes fashion design as a means of exploring ideas. Her designs are based on philosophical concepts. They focus on the balance created from the juxtaposition of contrasts. The soft materials give each piece flow and movement while still being contained by geometric shapes and clean lines. The colors, shapes, techniques, and materials represent each concept for every season.

Moreover, all the students participated in The Fashion Window Walking Tour. On the tour, students discovered the history of the largest and prestigious windows brands. This Tour is rated one of the top 10 tours in NYC and 5-star top rating in TripAdvisor. During a stay in New York, it is possible to live this unique experience, a dip in the world of fashion with a 2 hours long guided tour in the Big Apple that unveiled the most inspirational stores and how they display their products in their windows. The Fashion Window Walking Tour allows to explore the best of fashion while walking on the legendary 5th avenue, temple of shopping and striding the most emblematic shop windows such as Tiffany, Barneys, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdale, Lord & Taylor, Louis Vuitton and Saks Fifth Avenue in the city that never sleeps. In addition, this tour offers an outstanding view of the unmissable places in New York like Rockefeller Center and the Cathedral Saint-Patrick.
