With the extensive collection of professionally photographed images, WindowsWear gives you the opportunity to browse over 2,000 fashion windows in one sitting. This myriad of window displays can be effortlessly categorized by neighborhood, store, design, color, mannequin and even window trends.

WindowsWear is a relatively new company, starting in 2012. What motivated your team to start WindowsWear? What was your team hoping to achieve in the fashion and VM industry?

WindowsWear creates visual merchandising into a new online shopping experience through, the worldÂ’s window shopping website. We provide competitive research, inspiration, and trends from 40,000+ windows from 600 brands across the world, and growing, through WindowsWear PRO, the worldÂ’s largest fashion visual display and merchandising database. We also connect consumers with the windows through our Fashion Window Walking Tour, NYCÂ’s premiere fashion tour.

WindowsWear has been featured very prominently around the world. Just like the worldÂ’s fashion weeks showcase the worldÂ’s fashion designers, WindowsWear showcases the worldÂ’s fashion windows. The team at WindowsWear is inspired by the thousands of people across the world that design and create the worldÂ’s fashion window displays.

What does the WindowsWear audience look like? What are the benefits of becoming a WindowsWear PRO member?

We are approaching 100K average monthly visitors. We expect that to grow substantially by the holidays as will be the global landing page and shopping site for the worldÂ’s holiday windows.

Our top 10 countries by traffic are US, UK, Canada, Australia, Germany, Brazil, China, India, France, and Italy (in that order), and in the last month alone, we generated traffic from 153 different countries.

We help the worldÂ’s top brands, retailers, vendors, and universities create the best visual displays with WindowsWear PRO. We provide competitive research, inspiration, and trends from 40,000+ windows from 600 brands across the world, and growing. We help vendors win new business and showcase their work to new and existing clients from around the world.

Photographers are one of the most important components in your company. How do you choose them? What attributes must they have?

All of our photographers are extremely talented and have fashion photography backgrounds. We view each window as if itÂ’s the editorial shot of the brand that is featured in a prominent fashion magazine.

All of our photographers globally use the same camera with the same filter setting to achieve a unified look. We create a global window shooting schedule which we distribute globally to all the brands we work with.

Covering so many retail and fashion windows, what is your relationship like with these brands?

Extremely positive – we generate revenue, provide engaging content, and provide unique data and trend reporting.

We generate revenue for brands: is the world’s window shopping website, which is also one of the largest e-commerce luxury fashion apparel websites featuring 5.5+ million products! We make the windows of Bergdorf Goodman, Lord & Taylor, Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Gucci, Tory Burch, and more shop-able online. Vogue says “a dream turned into reality”, ELLE says “impressive,” Glamour says “stunning,”

We provide engaging marketing content for brands: Our content is superior in quality and we encourage the PR/digital marketing teams of all the brands we shoot to use our window images and window shopping links for digital marketing like press releases, your website, & social media. What fashion brands have consistently had great store windows and visual merchandising? What is the key to a ‘great window’?

ItÂ’s clear to us that brands that use their windows to emotionally connect and communicate the DNA of their brand to consumers consistently create great windows. The visual display and look of the window is key to strengthen the shopping experience. A great window ultimately connects the consumer with the product emotionally.

What is one of your teamÂ’s favorite windows of all times? What made it so special?

Visual merchandising around the holiday / Christmas shopping season is always special with seasonal displays. While fashions may change from year to year, a snowy window display featuring classic holiday decorations will remain consistent.

The use and integration of nature and the home environment is another trend that is also special. Visual merchandisers gain inspiration from their surroundings, and elements of nature and the home environment will always be prominently seen in the windows.

WindowsWear sees visual merchandising as an artistic, creative field that should be celebrated globally, and our collaboration with MiND Magazine is consistent with that. WindowsWear and MiND Magazine also see visual merchandising as having huge potential online and through digital and social media.
