Samar Younes, a Beirut-born, New York-based polymathic artist, futurist, cultural alchemist and creative catalyst, is the founder of SAMARITUAL. A Central Saint Martins alum, she has spent two decades at the forefront of in-house creative studios at companies like Anthropologie and Coach, leading creative teams in concept storytelling, ideations, and experiential activations. With a deep understanding of nuance and culture across Western and Eastern societies, Samar is intrigued by the brain's impact on aesthetic experiences and the importance of broader cultural representation within the visual trends we consume daily. Raised by a neurologist father and an artist mother, Samar's passion for pushing the boundaries of creativity and exploring the intersection of art, culture, craft, architecture, fashion, indigenous rituals, neuroaesthetic, cosmos, biomimicry, and emerging technologies has shaped her work. She aims to create imaginative, otherworldly realms that encourage playfulness, collaboration, and deep connections. Over the past year, Samar has delved into the world of generative AI art as part of her exploratory playful process, generating over 20,000 imagery to date, unlocking endless creative possibilities and discoveries, furthering her belief in an AI-human creative renaissance. Through her avant-garde idea-focused consultancy, SAMARITUAL, based in New York, Samar shares her passion and helps others unleash their creativity. She facilitates facilitate visionary thinking, collaboration, and co-creation through workshops and events and advises luxury and startup brands in holistically developing their worlds, adopting a 360-degree immersive and culturally-informed approach to brand’s expressions and strategies. My client portfolio includes renowned brands such as Loro Piana, Colette, Barneys, Disney, American Express, Selfridges, Whitney Museum, and Mastercard. Recently featured in GQ for an interview about AI art, Samar created one of the first AI editorials showcasing Spring '23 men's fashion in her otherworldly style with generative AI art. A sought-after speaker, educator, and juror, she recently served as a juror for the Frame Awards 2023 and a speaker at NYU's Technology, Culture, and Society department and Future Forward Chicago. Additionally, she writes a monthly newsletter on crafting a connected future for those at the forefront of creativity and innovation.
