Luxury fragrance house Maison Francis Kurkdjian brings its newest olfactory creation to life through an immersive installation celebrating the launch of Oud Velvet Mood Extrait de Parfum. The activation translates the fragrance’s sensorial concept into a tactile environment where rich materials, dramatic lighting, and deep jewel tones evoke the softness and sensuality of velvet.
At the heart of the experience is the fragrance itself, a 2026 reinterpretation by perfumer Francis Kurkdjian that explores oud through the lens of fabric-inspired textures. The composition layers leathery oud with luminous peach, osmanthus, and supple suede notes to create what the house describes as a smooth, velvety sensation on the skin.
The installation reflects this interplay of texture and scent. Plush velvet surfaces, sculptural displays, and deep midnight hues mirror the fragrance’s enveloping character, immersing visitors in an atmosphere that feels both intimate and theatrical. Soft lighting and layered materials create a cocoon-like environment, encouraging guests to slow down and experience the perfume as a multisensory narrative rather than a simple product launch.
Oud has long been a defining theme for the Maison. Since introducing the Oud Mood collection, the brand has explored the ingredient through a series of fragrances inspired by luxurious textiles—including silk, satin, cashmere, and now velvet—each translating the tactile qualities of fabric into scent.
With this installation, Maison Francis Kurkdjian demonstrates how fragrance retail can evolve beyond traditional counters into experiential storytelling. By transforming the emotional qualities of velvet into a spatial environment, the brand bridges perfumery, design, and architecture—creating a moment where scent, material, and atmosphere merge into one immersive expression of luxury.
