LOEWE Perfumes Unveils Crafted Garden — A Sensory Ode to Nature and Design in Madrid

rom 5 February to mid-March 2026, across three emblematic locations in Madrid — Institución Libre de EnseñanzaPlaza de Colón, and FORMA Design Fair at Matadero Madrid — LOEWE Perfumes presents Crafted Garden, an immersive installation conceived for the Madrid Design Festival 2026 that transforms the city into a living celebration of scent, nature and craftsmanship.

Anchored in the tradition of Renaissance gardens — spaces historically designed for contemplation, discovery and harmony — Crafted Garden offers a multi-layered sensory journey where visitors wander through sculptural landscapes of form, fragrance and light.

A Garden Reimagined: From Manuscript to Immersive Space

Rather than a static exhibition, Crafted Garden invites exploration and reflection. The installation is based around a modular landscape designed by Molo Design, whose signature honeycomb-like structures echo botanical manuscripts and ancient codices. These cellular forms — crafted from ultrathin, recyclable materials — generate an environment that feels both organic and architectural: part garden, part labyrinth, and wholly experiential.

As visitors move through the spaces, they encounter shifting volumes and pathways that reveal the interplay between natural motifs and contemporary design thinking. Each location — from the historic halls of the Institución Libre de Enseñanza to the open-air energy of Plaza de Colón and the creative hub of FORMA — offers a distinct stage for this sensory narrative.

A Dialogue Between Craftsmanship and Olfactory Art

Crafted Garden is more than a visual spectacle: it embodies LOEWE Perfumes’ ongoing dialogue between craftsmanship, sustainability and the art of perfumery. The installation interweaves the brand’s signature approach to scent with human-made materials and tactile forms, echoing the Maison’s commitment to innovation rooted in tradition.

By invoking Renaissance garden principles — balance, order and reverie — the project reframes fragrance itself as a design medium: one that can be seen, felt and experienced in spatial form. As a result, pedestrians and design enthusiasts alike are drawn into an olfactory narrative that unfolds at every turn.

Mapping the Experience

The Crafted Garden unfolds in three complementary experiences during the Madrid Design Festival 2026:

  • 5–22 February — Immersive space at Institución Libre de Enseñanza (P.º del General Martínez Campos, 14, Madrid).
  • 18–24 February — Public installation in Plaza de Colón, Madrid’s iconic public square.
  • 4–8 March — Another iteration at FORMA Design Fair, located in Matadero Madrid’s vibrant creative precinct.

Through these evolving formats, Crafted Garden offers both locals and visitors a rare opportunity to engage with design in the round — where scent, structure and natural inspiration converge.
