In Milan, nostalgia rarely returns empty-handed.
At the entrance to Via Monte Napoleone, FENDI marks its centenary with a new four-storey home inside a classical Palazzo. Across 1,200 square metres, ready-to-wear, bags, accessories and homeware form one complete vision of Italian living.
The space is refined without needing to announce itself. Perfume, scarves and bags share the same rooms, each object completing the next.
Towards the end of the year, history moves into the windows.
Black-and-white images meet familiar silhouettes. Peekaboo and Baguette stand beside men and women drawn in sharp profile, while Falena—the moth—moves through the display.
In Italian culture, the moth carries ideas of transformation and light. Here, its coloured wings pause against the glass, take flight and settle as fine embroidery across the bags, giving familiar icons a new rhythm.
One window holds the gaze.
A young woman in a pink polka-dot shirt and white fur sits with a lilac-pink sequinned Baguette. The bag that once sent Carrie into a frenzy now looks entirely self-possessed.
Times change. Icons remain.
Desire may begin the story. What lasts is style—and the confidence it becomes.
Maria Grazia Chiuri returns to FENDI.
For a century-old fashion house, this is more than a homecoming.
Time is never the end.
It is a reason to begin again.
