Coach announces the opening of Coach Play APW, an experiential concept store inspired by the house’s New York heritage and the dynamic spirit of Kuala Lumpur. Following the launch of Malaysia’s first Coach Play location in Ipoh earlier this year, Coach Play APW builds on the house’s venture into crafting interactive and exploratory experiences that captivate the senses—inspired by the expressive spirit of today’s generation. Spotlighting the rich cultural history of A Place Where (APW), a prominent printing factory turned contemporary lifestyle campus, Coach Play APW blends historic charm and the house’s spirit of playfulness and self-expression to create an immersive retail destination celebrating a shared legacy of craftsmanship. Conceptualized as a space with various experiential areas throughout, it draws inspiration from the iconic visual language of Coach, including a warm color palette that evokes golden hour in New York City, vintage Coach ads, and touches of leathercraft detailing that nod to the house’s heritage. Classic house codes including hangtag and beloved Coach mascot, Rexy, are additionally featured as signature design motifs. TABBY SHOP Coach Play APW will house the newest iteration of the Tabby Shop, a vibrant and immersive pop-up inspired by Coach’s modern day-icon. Featuring the latest Tabby collections, the space is brought to life with playful neon lights and colorful design motifs that reimagine APW’s printing legacy. CREATIVE HUB Created to inspire individuals to explore their inner artist, Coach Play APW features the first interactive screen-printing service globally, where visitors can customize a curation of canvas tote bags and t-shirts with unique graphics. Additionally, visitors can experience the Coach Create Bar, the house’s signature customization experience. Showcasing the fusion of print and craft, the Archive Room incorporates local stamps and vintage graphics from the Royal Press along with Coach codes, tools, hardware, and archival imagery, enriched with engaging digital content. COACHTOPIA Making its debut in Malaysia is Coachtopia, the house’s collaborative lab for innovation and circular craft, powered by community. Visitors will be able to shop the sub-brand’s latest collection of leather goods and ready-to-wear, crafted with recycled, repurposed and renewable materials playfully reimagined into something new, including crowd favorites like the Ergo and Wavy Dinky bags. RTW & FTW Lastly, the ready-to-wear and footwear section houses the latest collection of Coach pieces as well as a curation of men’s pieces and footwear. THE COACH COFFEE SHOP The second of its kind in Malaysia, Coach Play APW will also feature the The Coach Coffee Shop, a vibrant reimagination of a classic New York corner store with playful flair. Adding a touch of character is an animated neon sign of the Coach Coffee Shop mascot, Lil Miss Jo, inspired by vintage New York diner imagery. Featuring a cozy indoor space and a curated menu of city-inspired bites, the Coach Coffee Shop transports visitors to the house’s hometown.
