Craft Mannequins introduced a collection of handcrafted paper mâché mannequins, developed as an alternative to traditional fiberglass solutions in visual merchandising.
The collection reflects a broader shift within the retail industry toward the use of alternative materials. Each mannequin is produced using biodegradable components, resulting in a textured surface and a more natural appearance that can be integrated into different retail environments.
The concept combines material development with production scalability. Craft Mannequins operates through a hybrid model, with manufacturing in Asia under direct supervision and finishing and customization carried out in Europe. This structure allows for flexibility in design while supporting larger production volumes.
During the presentation, the collection was reviewed by visual merchandising teams, retailers, and brands exploring different material approaches for display. The focus was on how these mannequins could be integrated into existing retail concepts while responding to changing material considerations.
With more than 20 years of experience in mannequin development and production, Craft Mannequins continues to work across manufacturing and design processes, combining industrial production with handcrafted techniques.
The project reflects an ongoing exploration of how material choices influence the way retail displays are designed and produced.
