Briggs Hillier – The “Pick ’n’ Mix” Interactive Retail Concept

Creative design studio Briggs Hillier attended EuroShop 2026. Having first exhibited in 2020 and returning in 2023, the studio presented a new stand concept in 2026.

For the five-day event, Briggs Hillier exhibited in the Designers’ Village in Hall 12, an area dedicated to studios working across strategy, design, and brand environments in physical retail.

The stand, titled Briggs Hillier Pick ’n’ Mix, was designed as an interactive space that invited visitors to explore retail challenges and ambitions through a series of simple engagements. The concept connected visitors’ goals with the studio’s areas of focus, including insight, creativity, flexibility, storytelling, and commercial thinking.

Rather than presenting services directly, the stand encouraged visitors to discover the studio’s approach through interaction.

Within a footprint of 12 square meters, Briggs Hillier transformed the stand into a Pick ’n’ Mix sweet shop. Visitors were invited to complete a short form describing their brand’s opportunities and challenges. Based on their responses, the team prepared a personalised sweet mix while discussing possible strategic directions for retail environments.

Each visitor received 100 Briggs Hillier Bucks (BHBs) to spend. They could choose from four pre-designed mixes — The Concept, The Strategist, The Fixer, or The Rollout — or create their own combination by selecting up to ten sweets from twelve available options.

The stand itself was finished in a bold red-orange tone, highlighted by spotlights illuminating a menu behind the counter explaining the Pick ’n’ Mix concept.

Two rows of sweet jars sat beneath the menu. In front stood an OSB counter with fluted acrylic panelling and shelving underneath. The counter was designed for the installation but will be reused by Pedestrian, a local charity that supports children and young people through creativity and the arts.

Benches and A-boards helped draw visitors into the stand from the surrounding Designers’ Village.

All elements of the installation reflected the Pick ’n’ Mix concept — including the sweet tins, printed materials, and the jackets worn by the Briggs Hillier team. Visitors also received carpenter-style pencils as a takeaway.

On the opposite wall, visitors could browse selected Briggs Hillier projects or sign up to SNAPSHOT, the studio’s bi-weekly publication, via QR code.

The installation presented Briggs Hillier’s strategy-driven approach to retail environments through a physical concept that combined conversation, interaction, and storytelling within a compact exhibition space.
