Barneys has been a staple of high fashion for as long as we can all remember. Within the last few years, however, they have shifted their target market to appeal to the younger generation, the millennials, ranging from 25 to 39 years old.

Barneys is partnering up with local tattoo artists and a body piercer to create a pop up on the 8th floor of Barneys on Madison. They are only doing this for three consecutive Saturdays starting on October 27th 2018. The pop up includes tattoos by Fun City, piercings by Bejewled NYC, jean therapy with care label and chain stitch embroidery by Brian Blakely. This is the only week embroidery is offered. November 3rd and November 10th’s event will include piercings by Bejewled NYC and tattoos by Jonboy.

Customers can get a free tattoo with the purchase of any $500 spent in the store that day. Free piercings are offered to anyone who buys jewelry on the 8th floor.

This is a great way to reach out to the younger generations. Tattoos are becoming more and more acceptable in our society and it may not seem like Barneys and tattoos are a normal combination; but if you think about it, its genius. Millennials are more willing to spend money on events and experiences, than on clothes these days. Getting a tattoo, while shopping at Barneys seems to be an experience not replicable.
On top of this incredibly unique pop up, Barneys had a store wide 10% discount going on. This customer discount will then be donated to the foundation, Sanctuary for Families. The event for this special promotion was Tuesday, October 29th, however the discount continued till Thursday November 1st. Barneys works with many foundations that support children and medicine among others.
You may be able to get Breakfast at Tiffany’s but you can get Tattoos at Barneys.
