WindowsWear Creative Director Raul Tovar featured in Vogue Mexico, September Issue

¡Viva la moda (y el poder latino)! indirectly translated to “Long Live Fashion (and Latin Power)!” triumphantly states the homepage of Vogue Mexico. It is a timely sentiment reverberating throughout the fashion community as current political climates reach a fever pitch driving artists to do what they do best, create.

We wonder what the world of fashion would look like without the monumental contributions of icons like Oscar De La Renta, Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, Manolo Blahnik, Cristobal Balenciaga, Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler, to name a few. Lucky for us we’ll never know as the timeless work of these artisans have graced runways, magazine covers, red carpets, and film screens.

For the lauded September Issue of Vogue Mexico, WindowsWear Creative Director, Raul Tovar, has shot and directed a valentine to Latin culture and the paramount influence of Latinos in the fashion industry.

Enter model and muse, Dominican born Lineisy Montero. Not only did Montero make a splash at this years New York Fashion Week walking in some of the most high profile shows including Tom Ford, Ralph Lauren, Oscar De La Renta, Michael Kors, Jason Wu, Carolina Herrera, and Calvin Klein, but she’s also this years September Issue of Vogue Mexico’s cover girl.

The concept for Tovar’s vision was quite simple, a celebration of culture. From the hypnotic Afro-carribean drum beats, the cacophony of a typical Latin restaurant, to a joyous dance party, with Montero at the center of it all. A gorgeous narrator of style taking us through a journey decked out in none other than the pride of Santo Domingo (and fellow Dominican), Oscar De La Renta. ¡Viva la moda (y el poder latino)!, indeed.
