Selfridges London Hosts Live Music Events as Part of Their Music Matters Campaign

Selfridges welcomes a series of musical collaborations as part of their new campaign entitled Music Matters.

The retailer is hosting events and collaborations with musical talent across all its stores in London, Manchester, Birmingham and online during a three-month long campaign until October 18th.

Selfridges’ Oxford Street will provide a platform for new music artists, in the Ultralounge, its permanent event space that is also the world’’s first in-store live music venue.

For Music Matters, the Ultralounge at Selfridges London has been transformed into a live music venue and state-of-the-art audio visual content studio.

The venue is– the first of its kind, and will be hosting the Music Matters at Selfridges line-up, featuring exciting new talent and exclusive artist nights.

Selfridges has partnered with TEM,– a London-based collective of audio visual designers who have created some of the most powerful visual moments in recent pop history – to create a truly immersive digital set which will enable both artist and audience to capture HD live content for social media-sharing. The space has an intimate 120 capacity and the stage is a modular structure of gauze, mirrors and lighting which will display live projections and generative visual/audio reactive effects.

20% of all ticket profits will be donated to the Music Venues Trust,– a charity that protects and supports independent live music venues in the UK. Beverley Whitrick, Strategic Director at the charity, says, ““Any project which draws attention to the plight of the UK’’s grassroots music venue is a positive thing as far as Music Venue Trust is concerned. Music brings people together and should be celebrated.”
