Moschino Windows Feature Quirky Collaborations through the Seasons

There’s nothing the fashion industry enjoys more than when a nostalgic franchise gets a retail reboot. So it’s no surprise that luxury brands want to cash in on our collective enthusiasm for throwback fashion. And who better than the industry’s reigning king of kitscht Jeremy Scott of Moschino, who just brought My Little Pony to the Milan Fashion Week runway.
Jeremy Scott has been known for his unorthodox quirky collaborations in the past, and WindowsWear has decided to feature a few of our favorites below:

This My Little Pony –inspired collection was made in collaboration with Hasbro. The Italian fashion brand has made them luxe, with a see-now-buy-now capsule inspired by the colorful ponies. True equestrian enthusiasts will want to snag a piece before Oct. 6, when “My Little Pony: The Movie” hits theaters. The movie includes such stars as Sia (playing Songbird Serenade), who just teased the movie’s soundtrack in a new music video.

Jeremy Scott has long considered Barbie a muse. She’s influenced him so much that the designer even dedicated his entire spring 2015 Moschino collection to Barbie. Talk about bubble-gum-pink everything—he went so far as to send a model down the runway on roller skates doing her best Roller Barbie.

The Mario Kart inspired 2015 holiday collection, named “Super Moschino” celebrates the 30-year anniversary of everyone’s favorite character. We saw some of Mario’s pals like Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad on accessories such as backpacks, bucket bags, wallets and belts, and clothing like bright knit sweaters and T-shirts.This collection consists of the perfect amount of childhood nostalgia mixed with vibrant colors and patterns. What’s not to love? Mario for the win!

“Fashion should be playful,” says Scott, and there’s certainly nothing serious about Moschinos Spongebob-themed collection. Sticking its tongue out – sometimes quite literally – at more demure, chic styles, this cruise collection is all about taking bold color and powerful pattern to the max. The unmistakable bright yellow tone and playful graphic has us ready for stylish city streets or a party in a pineapple under the sea.

In this Fall 2014 collection Moschino embraced all that is gross, addictive, and hilarious in lowbrow culture. The collection included coats, dresses and skirts that were modeled after McDonald’s uniforms, evening gowns printed with candy wrappers, a Budweiser cape, and the very vintage glamorization of the smoking culture of the 1960’s in mainstream America. While this collection isn’t for everyone, we adore how fun, funny, and fearless it is. “Fashion Kills” indeed.

Not even an hour after Jeremy Scott sent a car wash-themed Moschino collection down the Spring 2016 runway, an entire Windex-themed Moschino outfit was up for grabs with the exception of the iPhone case shaped like a spray bottle, which sold out within an hour. So fresh and so clean!
