Louis Vuitton Opens New Flagship Store at Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront

Published August 5, 2026

CAPE TOWN — Louis Vuitton has opened a new flagship store at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront, expanding its presence in South Africa with a boutique that combines the House’s fashion, fragrance, travel and lifestyle collections in a new retail environment.

The store opened on 30 July 2026 and is located in the Victoria Wharf Shopping Centre, replacing the Maison’s previous location at the waterfront. It offers Louis Vuitton’s complete range of women’s and men’s products, including leather goods, ready-to-wear, footwear, accessories, watches, jewellery, travel pieces and Les Parfums Louis Vuitton.

The boutique is organised into dedicated women’s and men’s spaces connected by a central fragrance and travel area. Women’s leather goods are displayed against handcrafted Japanese wallpaper featuring a V-shaped motif, while the women’s ready-to-wear space incorporates macramé wall panels inspired by the House’s Monogram flower.

The men’s section features French oak finishes and leather furnishings, providing dedicated areas for ready-to-wear, footwear, leather goods and accessories. Throughout the store, Louis Vuitton’s travel collections are presented alongside contemporary lifestyle products, reflecting the brand’s long-standing association with travel since its founding in 1854.

A key feature of the new boutique is the Winter Garden, a private client space overlooking the Victoria Basin. Designed for private appointments, the area incorporates planting, tiled finishes, artwork and floor-to-ceiling windows that connect the interior with views of Cape Town Harbour.

The store also integrates art and collectible design into the retail environment. Historic Louis Vuitton trunks are displayed alongside pieces from the Maison’s Objets Nomades collection, complemented by furniture from South African design company Weylandts and works by Namibian artist Nicky Marais.

Louis Vuitton first opened in Cape Town in December 2007 and reconfigured its store in 2019. The new flagship represents the latest phase of the Maison’s presence in South Africa, bringing together its retail offering, travel heritage and curated design elements within a larger space at the V&A Waterfront.
