The 2026 edition of the Macy’s Flower Show 2026 marks a bold evolution of one of New York’s most iconic retail experiences—this time merging botanical spectacle with high-impact beauty storytelling through its partnership with Valentino Beauty.
A Spring Tradition, Reimagined
Returning for its 51st year, the show transforms the Macy’s Herald Square into a sprawling indoor garden from April 23 through May 10. Anchored by the theme “Homegrown,” the 2026 concept celebrates America’s diverse landscapes through immersive floral installations, regional botanicals, and layered visual storytelling.
Rather than a static display, this year’s experience unfolds like a journey—guiding visitors through curated environments that blend craftsmanship, nature, and design into a multisensory retail environment.
Valentino Beauty’s “Born in Roma Palazzo”
At the heart of the experience is Valentino Beauty’s takeover of the mezzanine level, where the brand introduces its “Born in Roma Palazzo” installation—an immersive, fragrance-driven environment that translates scent into space.
Inspired by the brand’s Born in Roma fragrance collection, the installation is conceived as a reimagined Roman palazzo, where each room is defined by a distinct chromatic identity and olfactive profile. Guests move through a sequence of richly layered environments—from velvet-drenched interiors to vibrant, garden-inspired rooms—each integrating lush florals that mirror fragrance notes.
Interactive scent moments, photo-ready vignettes, and curated design details transform the space into both a retail activation and a storytelling platform—encouraging exploration, individuality, and self-expression.
Where Retail Meets Experience
The collaboration signals a continued shift in department store strategy: from transactional space to experiential destination. By merging fragrance, florals, and immersive design, Macy’s and Valentino Beauty create a layered environment that engages multiple senses—sight, scent, and touch—while driving deeper brand connection.
This is further reinforced by a lineup of in-store programming tied to the show, including beauty masterclasses, styling events, and Mother’s Day activations, positioning the experience as both cultural moment and commercial driver.
A Broader Retail Rollout
While New York remains the centerpiece, 2026 expands the Flower Show’s footprint with a parallel installation at Macy’s State Street in Chicago—extending the “Homegrown” narrative across markets and reinforcing the scalability of experiential retail concepts.
