On August 13, 2025, The Plaza, a Fairmont Managed Hotel, partnered with Lacoste to debut a Tennis-Inspired Afternoon Tea at the iconic Palm Court, just in time for New York’s tennis season.
Blending the elegance of the sport with the heritage of Lacoste, the limited-time experience reimagines afternoon tea with a playful yet refined twist. Guests were treated to one-of-a-kind teas, Champagnes, and cocktails while surrounded by whimsical details that honored both tradition and sport.
The Palm Court’s famed stained-glass dome glowed in signature Lacoste green, setting the stage for a stylish gathering. A bespoke sculpture crafted from original vintage racquets and woven piqué fabric—the same fabric René Lacoste himself pioneered for the iconic polo—anchored the space, offering a striking nod to the brand’s legacy. Curated music further transported guests to the energy of a courtside seat.
