Louisiana Tech Students Experience NYC’s Fashion Retail Industry with WindowsWear with a Spring 2025 Tour

On May 7th, WindowsWear had the pleasure of hosting Louisiana Tech University‘s Fashion Merchandising and Retail Studies program for an immersive experience in New York City’s fashion and retail landscape, with Dr. Kathleen Heiden, Robbie Auger Watson Endowed Professor of Fashion Merchandising and Retail Studies at Louisiana Tech University along with students Kinzley Allen, Ella Bagwell, Abigail Hood, Lily Hudson, Surayya Jones, Brooklyn Perkins, Addie Kate Sanders, Savannah Stewart, Ashley Young, and Hannah Young.

The day included an insightful visit to Pardgroup‘s U.S. headquarters, where Stefano Pieri, Managing Director and Eros Cavalli, Business Development Manager, shared behind-the-scenes expertise on creating intricate retail displays. The students learned about the creative and strategic processes involved in campaigns for many different types of brands.

The students also visited Berkeley College and had an exclusive tour of the design studio of Chuks Collins, resident designer and fashion innovator. They explored where his collections are created and shipped, and even discussed his recent high-profile project: dressing Gayle King for the Met Gala.

Throughout their time in New York, the students also explored iconic local destinations like the Garment District, Bryant Park, and the New York Public Library—landmarks that have long been central to the city’s role as a global fashion capital and a hub for inspiration, design, and commerce.

It was an inspiring day filled with creativity, industry knowledge, and real-world exposure to the fashion and design world. For more information about our tours, please click here.
